Only one stick or both sticks but only half the 512 ram? If it's the latter, you may have the wrong density DIMM. Data memory systems sez yes this takes 4 512M DIMMS: <http://www.datamemorysystems.com/_memory-information/512MB_DDR333_PC2700_DIMM_609.asp> Try swapping them around in the slots or swapping in one at a time.
