Three blinks indicates that no RAM has passed testing. It is possible, but unlikely, they somehow got zapped when you were moving them around. Be sure that you are counting the right number of flashes; one means no RAM is seen at all, and two means incompatible or incorrectly installed RAM. Make sure the RAM is paired in the slots from the center going outwards. If it already is, or that doesn't fix it, try resetting the logic board. Unplug the machine for at least two minutes and retry.
