Bad RAM could cause this, but given your other problems, I suspect it's a
simpler cause: your mailbox somehow got corrupt and it's causing Mail.app
to freak out on the unexpected data. Unfortunately, unless someone else
knows a shortcut for this , until the offending portion of the mailbox is
deleted (hopefully a message and not some essential metadata) you probably
have no choice but to manually go through each and every one of them.
