When you double-click on a music file, you want not iTunes to open and play it, but QuickTime? If this is what you want to do, that's easy: -In the Finder, do "Get Info" on a file of the concerned type. -There is a section "Open with..." in there, where you can select the application you want to open it with. -Activate the checkbox "Do this with all files of this type" before clicking OK.
(I'm not at my Mac right now, so it might be slightly different...) An alternative way is to drag the file's icon onto QuickTime's icon (e.g. in the dock) to open it. You didn't write what kind of music file you want to play, or what happens when you try to open iTunes by itself, what messages come up for example. All that is very useful for troubleshooting! Anyway, let us know how it goes. -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
