cant u do this with drive setup? to stop it from mounting..
i read that you could do this with drive setup just yesterday..
maybe it requires a mac os 9 updated version of drive setup for that 
functionality
but if u didnt check it out.. try it! i read that u can set up any 
partition to not 'auto mount'
