Are you sure the Restore disks are for this model of G4 (Mirror Drive Door???)?

There maybe a firmware issue.  I don't know of a specific issue with this 
machine and OS X but some machines require a firmware update before they can 
run X.

What do you mean it doesn't find the HD?  Doesn't appear in Finder, in HDSC 
Setup, in Drive Setup or something else.

What if any system DOES see the HD?
