Greetings, I was successful in uploading two images: 19 Gig and 18 Gig and deploying them to many computers up until this point. The error I get is: (stdin): unexpected end of file dd: /dev/rwd0d: Invalid argument. This happens with both images, each are known good. Interestingly enough, each seems to die during transfer around the same time.
I am using FreeBSD 6.0 as my ftp server. Any help in trouble-shooting this would be greatly appreciated. I am pretty Unix literate, and a great fan of the BSDs. On a side note, the computers I am cloning are Compaq nx6110 laptops. One quirk that I discover while using g4u on them was that the the NIC Card: bce0 Broadcom required waking up in order for g4u to detect it and process DHCP! In order to do this, I set in the BIOS network booting and CDROM booting. Upon boot the nick card is woken up and lights come on, from there dection by g4u is fine. In some cases however, I have pushed F10 to go into a netboot session, then reboot into g4u in order to get detection to occur. I have noticed from reading the list that some people seem to have a similar problem with different computers. Waking up the card in the BIOS or some other way might be the solution for them. -- Scott ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
