Hi,
I can't run G4U on this particular mainboard. What happens is that the
CD boots, it looks like the bootloader runs and then the system
reboots. I've seen the problem on linux kernels on this particular
machine, and it's because the CPU on this mainboard (a VIA EDEN or C3
from memory) requires the kernel to use a generic 386 CPU type, not
686 or 586 or K7 or anything else. Using anything other than generic
386 causes a kernel panic and immediate reboot (on linux).

Is there an easy way to recompile the kernel on G4U so I can boot
(never done NetBSD before)? Any chance of getting this fixed in a
later version? I know that under linux it's a single option "Generic
386 support" or similar in the kernel config, and I imagine there's
something similar under NetBSD.

Thanks in advance,
Patrick
