I have 2 systems where g4u won’t start.  They currently run centos, so I wouldn’t think there would be a hardware compatibility issue.  Here are the last few lines of the startup info:

boot device: <unknown>

root on md0a dumps to md0b

root filesystem type: ffs

ex0: link state changed to down

ex0: link state changed to up

And that’s it – no further action, it is hung,

The other box fails at the same place, except that is fails on a different device:

vr0: link state changed to up

I am guessing that the ex0 is the PCI NIC and the vr0 is the motherboard integrated nic – “link state” sounds kind of network-y to me.

This is g4u version 2.2.  I also tried version 2.1, and with 2.1, on both systems it hung on the “root on md0a dumps to md0b” line.  I have verified that my network connection is good and that the DHCP server is up and running.  One of the boxes uses a reserved dhcp IP and the other is a plain static IP, although I wouldn’t think that that would be an issue.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?
