I am using G4U on a 210L and it works fine I use version 2.1 (Neither 2.2 or 2.3 will boot on the machine due to problems with the driver for the USB hub. This appears to be a problem with netBSDs uhci driver. The default netBSD install kernel will not boot either)
Turn the machine on and enter the BIOS. Go down to drives in the BIOS and under SATA mode change the setting from normal to combination. Now boot the machine from the G4U 2.1 disk. Once booted you will have to move the USB keyboard from the socket it is in to another one. Keep moving it until you see some text pop up indicating it has detected the keyboard. Once you have finished changed the SATA mode back to normal.
