I've also noticed that some different computer manufacturers will read the same disk differently. For instance, a Compaq/HP image will not work on a Dell or vice versa. In this instance the system will simply sit with a flashing cursor when you try to boot from the image. This issue is with the way that Compaq/HP systems read the drive - so far I've had no trouble mixing images amongst other manufacturers.
