Hello,

Well I've finally got time to start to look at how g4u works; I'd like to make a few mods so it needs fewer keystrokes to do a slurp. I've got netBSD running on my laptop (FYI Parallels on MacBook) and managed to build a working version of g4u. Now I have several questions as I'm a newbie to such big builds:

1. why is the whole of netBSD rebuilt on the second build? I guess there's something in the Makefiles for this - is it possible to change this? It takes 2.5 hours and for small changes to the g4u scripts it seems that make could be cleverer. Any hints?

2. where is the help/usage script - how is it run on start up?

3. if I want to add a script how many places do I have to mention it? I've seen COPY statements in a LIST, anywhere else?

4. a minor point, but the build fails if I'm not logged in as root, any ideas?

5. is there a simpel explanation for the /usr/src/cvs file arrangement? It's baffling!

Thanks,

Adrian
