I'm trying to use g4u (which is AWESOME, btw) to pull a single windows 98 partition from an old machine and install it into a virtual machine on Parallels. I have managed to upload both the single partition, and the entire disk (with all the partitions, and XOSL boot manager) to a .gz file, but when I load g4u in Parallels, and slurp the disk, or the partition, Parallels freezes up trying to read from the virtual hard drive.
One person has managed to migrate a win98 installation successfully (http://forum.parallels.com/thread9706.html), but I imagine this was from an unpartitioned disk. The partition layout looks like this: WinXP (testing partition) Win98 (development partition) Extended partition Data partition XOSL partition All I want is to get the Win98 partition to boot, but I would happily move the entire disk structure to a VM as well, but neither seem to work. I know this is a bit sparse, but I've tried doing this 5 or 6 ways, and it's sucking the life out of me. If anybody has any ideas about what I need to look for/setup/keep in mind, I would be grateful for the help.
