I am having some trouble with these new Dell systems. The CPU is, as far as I can tell, a Pentium M Dothan "E8400 wolfdale". G4u 2.3 and 2.2 can't recognize it, the startup ends in a panic.
I gather from the archive of this list that this is a known issue. So I am now trying G4u 2.4 alpha 3, which DOES recognize the CPU and it starts fine. However, the network card is not configured $dmesg | grep net Intel product 0x10d3 (ethernet network, revison 0x02) at pci0 dev 24 function 0 not configured That makes it much harder to slurp and store disk images :) The dell website says the Got any ideas? I'm reading the Dell website trying to figure out precisely what ethernet device is installed on this motherboard. The best guess appears to be: 825xx Gigabit Platform LAN Network Device -- Paul E.
