Hello all,

Am trying to clone my laptop's hard drive before switching it for a
new hard drive. The laptop hard drive is SATA, and I have no other
computer with a SATA bus, so G4U is the only possible way for me to
clone the hard drive. G4U boots just fine, finds the network card
just fine:

"wm0 at pci2 dev 0 function 0: Intel i82573L Gigabit Ethernet, rev. 0"

Typing ifconfig wm0 gets: (am typing some of it only)

<snip>
media: Ethernet autoselect (100BaseTX full-
duplex,flowcontrol,rxpause,txpause)
status: active
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0xff000000 broadcast 255.255.255.255

I have a DHCP server on my router and I know this works fine as my
laptop has Ubuntu on, and after booting, it gets an IP address from
the router and works perfect. G4U keep sending DHCP requests and keep
getting "send_packet: Input/output error".

I tried manually entering the IP address and ifconfig wm0 confirms the
change:

inet 192.168.1.3 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255

but still no good.

I also tried "route add default 192.168.1.1." but again, no good either.

I did try 2.4alpha4 but got:

wpi0: could not read firmware file
uvm_fault(0xcdb67774, 0, 1) -> 0xe
fatal page fault in supervisor mode
<snip>
The operating system has halted.
Please press any key to reboot.

Tried it without ACPI or SMP but same problem.

Any ideas? I'm desperate for the bigger hard drive, and there is a
LOT of work to reinstall the operating systems!

Thanks very much for your time in advance!

Regards - Piers
