Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: segfault Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 8 Private: No Submitted By: Will (wkc5) Assigned to: Sadrul Habib Chowdhury (sadrul) Summary: gaim-text segfault after a couple minutes of doing nothing Initial Comment: Typically, gaim-text segfaults after about a couple (three to five) minutes, regardless of what I'm doing. Reproducibility regardless of mouse support, whether I'm IMing someone or not, or even whether I've touched any other keys since gaim-text started. The stack trace is attached; I'm re-compiling libc in hopes of getting more debug information. The beta of the gaim gui works fine, with the exception of bug 1639916, but I found a workaround and that isn't a problem anymore (it's unrelated). I'm running gaim 2b6 with Gentoo Linux 2.6.9 #2 (Thu Oct 13 23:30:13 PDT 2005 i686) glibc-2.4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Will (wkc5) Date: 2007-01-29 11:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=193669 Originator: YES Either I don't know how to recompile libc to get a more meaningful trace or it's not possible... In case it's of use/interest, I was running gaim-text remotely in all of these cases and the segfault is replicable connecting using putty, screen, xterm (in cygwin's X and Redhat FC3 gnome). Please let me know if there's any other information I can provide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1646516&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
