I know you have a lot to do, therefore I spend a litte time on this issue. First of all I build the last gaim-2.0.0-beta5 from source on a slack 11 system. Then I just started gaim without a .gaim settingsfolder and connected to my icq account. Okay, no problems so far. I give gaim 5 minutes to catch up all away msgs. Okay, it's not that bad as I thought, the only problem is, that it takes a lot of time to receive alle messages. But... however... very good. But my own away message only seems to appear at other gaim users, but not at normal icq (and Trillian?!) users (interesting is: if I add myself to my gaimbuddylist an change status to away, the awaymessage field in gaim stays empty, but I do appear as away). As a matter of fact there seems to be some incompability with icq client away messages (testet with icq lite version). At last I just have a few other things to recommend: - the icq icons have a size of 52x64px.
