This happens both with only the Jabber prpl or only the ICQ prpl enabled. I tried to add gif, png and jpeg images as the buddy icon. I attached a drmingw trace I got with a fresh svn debug build. (One thing I tried to change in the code was checking if "error" is NULL before trying to print out debug info, and this stopped the crash from happening and everything went smoothly, the buddy icon did change.) This only disables a debug printout, so this should not change anything vital.
