Summary: Non-HTML < character breaks away message parsing

Initial Comment:
Including an unmatched < symbol in an away message
stops gaim from parsing the rest of the message. It
does not crash, but instead cuts the message short.

For example, the away message "I <3 gaim" would be
truncated to "I ".

Same error, but have been told that it shows up to others when sent to
them. Typed a piece of C++ code and I couldn't see anything after the cout
in the window, but the log shows it and the person on the receiving end saw
it.
