Gaim does as well. Yet there is no tool to import my trillian buddy list (which i have spent time setting up) into gaim. Currently a blocker for some users (myself included). Gaim (and I assume Trillian does this as well) stores buddies on the server for all protocols that support it (the one protocol that doesn't that I'm aware of is IRC).
