Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Dylan255 (dylan255) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Gaim Stops Responding Initial Comment: I have Gaim 2.0.0 Beta 6 installed on a Vista Ultimate 64 bit version OS. Gaim seems to run without any problems but I have issues making a connection to MSN. I have a co-worker that uses Gaim 2.0.0 Beta 5 who is logged in under MSN, but I cannot seem to make a connection. And when I try to modify any account Vista Reports that GAIM has stopped responding. I have tried installing and re-installing to no avail. A fix would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Dylan255 (dylan255) Date: 2007-03-18 23:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1745527 Originator: YES Pardon my idiotacy. I mis-typed the file name. I deleted the file from the plugins folder and I am able to modify accounts now. As far as the MSN connection error messages it seems to be working now and I will open another inquiry if you would like to close this one. Thank you for your assistance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-03-18 19:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO If you have gaim installed, you certainly do have a liboscar.dll (and if you are experiencing the bug I linked to (which you must likely are), then you have two copies). Look in the directory where you installed gaim (there *will* be a liboscar.dll there - leave it there); in the plugins subdirectory there will probably be another liboscar.dll (with an older modification date than the rest of the files in there), that is the file that you need to get rid of. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dylan255 (dylan255) Date: 2007-03-18 18:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1745527 Originator: YES I do not have the file specified anywhere on my computer - liboscar.dll. As far as the error when connecting to MSN, it just says that can't connect ... I'll keep track of the Debug Log from this point forward and update when I have more info. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-03-18 18:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO Don't mess with the priority, please. The crashing when trying to modify an account is this issue: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1652642&group_id=235 As far as inability to connect to MSN, what does the debug log (Help->Debug Window) say when you try to connect? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1682387&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
