Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: segfault Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Christopher Friedt (cfriedt) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: crash when adding an account Initial Comment: Hi everyone, I've been having this problem with gaim since I started using portage to install the beta6. Prior, I was using beta2 i think, which i downloaded & built the old fashioned way, and I never had any problems with beta2. Now, when I select accounts -> Add / Edit -> Add, gaim crashes instantly. I wish I had more debug output to provide, but this following two are all that I could come up with. I even attempted to reinstall mono, since that appeared to be a cause of the problem. I'm using gaim on an i686 laptop running gentoo 2006.1 Regards, ~/Chris ###################################################### final output of gaim --debug: Native stacktrace: /usr/lib/libmono.so.0 [0xb6d557cd] /usr/lib/libmono.so.0 [0xb6d0db7a] [0xb7ef6440] gaim(gaim_gtk_protocol_option_menu_new+0x389) [0x80d7759] gaim [0x806b55d] gaim(gaim_gtk_account_dialog_show+0x2f1) [0x806cfb1] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__VOID+0x4b) [0xb759c44b] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_closure_invoke+0x13b) [0xb758f0ab] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 [0xb759fbf9] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit_valist+0x899) [0xb75a10b9] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit+0x29) [0xb75a1269] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_button_clicked+0x51) [0xb7b03cc1] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb7b0591c] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__VOID+0x4b) [0xb759c44b] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 [0xb758d659] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_closure_invoke+0x13b) [0xb758f0ab] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 [0xb75a0076] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit_valist+0x899) [0xb75a10b9] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit+0x29) [0xb75a1269] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_button_released+0x51) [0xb7b03d51] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb7b03db1] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb7bd2ab2] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 [0xb758d659] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_closure_invoke+0x13b) [0xb758f0ab] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 [0xb75a022d] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit_valist+0x678) [0xb75a0e98] /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit+0x29) [0xb75a1269] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb7ce38c4] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_propagate_event+0x193) [0xb7bcbe03] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_main_do_event+0x327) [0xb7bccff7] /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb7a60bba] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_main_context_dispatch+0x181) [0xb74f5a71] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 [0xb74f8aef] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_main_loop_run+0x1b7) [0xb74f8ea7] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_main+0xc1) [0xb7bcd471] gaim(main+0x941) [0x80ad9d1] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xd8) [0xb723b838] gaim(gtk_widget_grab_focus+0x35) [0x80679e1] Debug info from gdb: (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
