Summary: messages take time to appear

Initial Comment:
Some IMs don't immediately show up, and wait until
another message is sent or received to be displayed.
This is true for both incoming and outgoing IMs, and I
have not experienced it with previous versions. The
timestamps and sounds for the messages appear to be
correct, they just don't show up.

yes i noticed the same thing on FC6 as well, using beta5 RPM.
but it doesnt happen always. i have noticed this max 3 times
and that too it gets repaired automatically.

it doesnt show msgs that i typed immediately on screen. but
appears after i receive a msg or minimize/restore the window
or type next msg. but then prob gets resolved automatically.

I have the same problem with Gaim 2.0.0 Beta6 on two different XP Pro SP2
machines. The message also appears if gaim is minimized then restored.

My protocols are AIM/ICQ and Jabber and the smiley theme I use is
Trillian-Smileys from kj (TrillianSmileys + Extension v0.1). The smileys
are sometimes animated.

Yeah, that might be true what g_lippold writes. I can't remember having
this problem when chatting with people and not using smileys.

The message doesn't just appear when writing or receiving another one. It
appears as well by clicking into the message box.

It also happens often for me under Windows XP with SP2. I have the feeling
that it happens more frequently when Gaim diplays mixes of lines with
smileys and without. It happens more often when a line containing no
smileys is displayed after a line that contains smileys.

to be using it, trust me). I am connecting through a lan with no proxy or
anything of the sort.

I'm using Windows XP Pro as well, but without SP2 (I'm using
SP1a).
The problem encounter in MSN, but just by sending messages.
I didn't use any other protocols with the new beta yet.

this is with Windows XP Pro, updated etc. I am not using a
proxy. I have only encountered it in AIM so far, as it is
the only protocol I use.
