Category: win32 Group: v1.5.0 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: croiduire (croiduire) Assigned to: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Summary: Unable to add Buddy Initial Comment: I am running GAIM V1.5.0 on Windows XP. I can't add a buddy to my AIM account. The other accounts I use (Yahoo and Jabber) don't have this problem. I get the usual error message about too many buddies (I'm not near the limit) then the name appears to add, but it's invalid...I'm unable to send or receive IMs. This is a recurrent problem--I can send you the specific names affected if that would be helpful. Please let me know if additional info is necessary. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Date: 2007-04-22 21:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20979 Originator: NO It's likely that this is fixed in Pidgin MTN now, and it should be fixed in Pidgin 2.0.0, once it's released. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Date: 2006-04-27 21:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20979 It's definitely a problem with Gaim's AIM/ICQ protocol plugin, so the other protocols aren't relevant. I think it has something to do with trying to add a buddy to a group that doesn't exist. Normally the group would be created automatically, but it seems like it isn't. What is the exact error message you get? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: croiduire (croiduire) Date: 2006-04-27 18:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1503459 Nope. Nor does the group composition matter (default or user created, empty or crowded). But again the Gchat option worked perfectly. One of the buddies I couldn't add under the AIM account also has Gmail, and that inclusion worked exactly like it is supposed to. Thanks again for trying on this. I hope a solution can be devised or discovered--the problem is incredibly frustrating!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Date: 2006-04-27 18:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20979 Are you able to add buddies if you put them in a new group? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1471483&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
