Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: msn Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Marius Kotsbak (mkotsbak) Assigned to: Stu Tomlinson (nosnilmot) >Summary: Add support for \"personal message\" field Initial Comment: In recent versions of MSN Messenger, there is a field called "personal message" in addition to the nick field. The content of this should be displayed together with the nick in the buddy list, and you should be able to set your own. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-09 21:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matija Polajnar (mpolaj) Date: 2007-02-25 08:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1728455 Originator: NO There is an old patch (now invalid; it doesn't work for 2.0 series of GAIM) that implements 11th version of MSN protocol (MSNP11) and displays personal messages. It was posted in late 2005. A year and a half later, Gaim 2.0 still uses MSNP9 protocol. What's the holdup? I don't know C (I regularly use Java, though) and I never coded for an open-source project as of yet, so I don't have courage to do it; but for existing Gaim developers it shouldn't be that hard .. Am I wrong? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nicoco Kinlidex (thenicoco) Date: 2006-08-21 21:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1580954 amsn 0.96RC1 got this feature (and is open source). unfortunately I don't code myself, but it may interest gaim developpers. gaim REALLY needs this features. gaim is a great soft and I cannot convince my friends to use it because of this lack ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: cokeguy17 (cokeguy17) Date: 2006-08-01 11:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1566249 This would be a very useful feature, could a moderator please raise the priority. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thoughts (zoric) Date: 2006-07-06 10:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=719913 This would be very useful for people who use msn a lot. In my opinion the "personal message" should be put into the statusmessage system, so that its shown below the nick in the buddylist and when you set your own statusmessage in Gaim, it should set the "personal message" in msn. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: 沈永光 (syk1986) Date: 2006-06-10 05:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=338808 This is quite important information for msn user. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul Carpenter (the-tree) Date: 2006-02-19 11:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1456098 This would be great, what would be brilliant is if you could immitate the "what I'm listening to" feature for this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sean Kennedy (sean_micken) Date: 2006-01-18 20:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1243858 This would be cool. At least have support for showing other's personal messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1288671&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
