Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: Harri Haataja (realblades) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: better privacy support in general Initial Comment: Just a client-side (server-side if possible, AIM has warning sytem, but at least Yahoo and ICQ don't AFAIK) ignore. Something that allows you to blacklist all those spammers and annoying fsckwits. (I put this into bug tracker as many trackers seem to track feature requests. There doesn't seem to be a level dialog, tough.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-10 16:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: newbeewan (newbeewan) Date: 2003-09-17 10:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=736123 It also for me a very good idea... because my icq account is very old ( 5 years ) and I have regularly some spam bots which send some messages.... I can block then for a session but it's not enought.... Black list can be very helpfull.... Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Leo (intatia) Date: 2003-08-29 06:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=758137 Woa, this is a VERY godo idea! Hell, I don't want to get this following message or any of this nature everytime I login: " (21:52:40) [EMAIL PROTECTED]: You are running a version of messenger that requires an immediate security update. Please visit http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Upgrades.aspx to complete the update. " Gr, nutin worse than someone messaging you everytime you signon and gettin away with it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2003-05-11 19:57 Message: Logged In: NO Yes, I fully agree that privacy is a major problem with GAIM. I have a similar problem to the one above with IRC. (A few IRC bots send me ads every 10 seconds or so) Please Please Please Please, include the option to permanetly blacklist by nick and hostname for the IRC module! Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeffrey Knight (jefight) Date: 2003-05-01 16:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=753489 FOLLOW UP / RELATED REQUEST: A little different but : It would be great if you could block an entire group at once... For example: I'm working and need coworkers to be able to IM me, but block all those chatty friends! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=482263&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
