Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Daniel Beardsmore (uilleann) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Buddy pounce for grouped contacts Initial Comment: It would be very useful to be able to apply buddy pounces to whole contacts, not individual buddies. For a person who you do not know which protocol they will sign on with next, being able to pounce their contact will apply the pounce to the first account they use within that contact. The main concern is that the pounce window is not geared up to this. The user selector right now is protocol+ID. I don't know how possible it is that the user selector system could be expanded to have a pseudo "contacts" protocol for selecting grouped contacts outside of any protocol. This is not needed for selecting a target when right-clicking on a contact and selecting Add Buddy Pounce, but the pounce window will not be able to show the target. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-10 16:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. May be even show the list of buddies in the contact when the user checks the box? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Laager (rlaager) Date: 2006-09-11 21:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=156487 I agree with the original submission. I don't know what this pseudo-protocol thing is about, and that doesn't seem like a good idea. But anyway, patches are welcome. If you want to try to code this, talk with me on IRC (or something) about the details. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: quin (painquin) Date: 2006-09-11 16:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1595768 I like the idea of having a pseudo protocol for all contact-groupings. that would make for the clearest defined behaviour, ie you know if you are selecting an account or a contact. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1555673&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
