>Summary: can\'t enter yen symbol

Initial Comment:
In xterm, alt-shift-5 produces a yen symbol. In gaim,
it doesn't.

apparently the control-shift behavior isn't just
control-shift-5, this seems to do some kind of wierd insert

it doesn't work for me in gimp or gedit either, so i'm going
to say this is a gtk thing, gtk tells us what keystroke has
been pressed, what characters inserted, so on. we _could_
handle it ourselves, but i'm not sure that's the best policy
since no one else (gtk wise) seems to be doing so

I don't know, I don't know that I have any other gtk
programs. Doesn't seem to in Firefox, but I would never in
a million years use Mozilla's behavior as any kind of
indicator of anything, it lives in its own little world.
