Summary: Chatroom Nicks

Initial Comment:
Could Yahoo nickname support be added, at least for
chatrooms? As it's rather disorienting when people refer
to each other via the visible nicknames, but I can't see
those nicks to figure out who they're talking to.
If it's actually already in the client, I'm afraid I couldn't
find it.

Well, I'd been thinking something along the lines of a tooltip
similar to what you get over aliased buddies in the main
GAIM window.
You could use a "Nick (yimhandle):" text layout as well.
(Which might come out with something like "SomePerson
(myhandle): Hi!")
Optional on/off using the nicks, of course.

I never found nicknames for buddies in the main YIM client,
just the chat section. Which seemed a bit strange to me. I
don't use the official YIM client much at all, so I'm not all that
familiar with it.

No, you can't do that with gaim currently.

How should it work? How do yous upport nicknames, and still
know who's really talking?

Btw, do you know if yahoo ever displays nicknames for people
in the buddy list, etc, it seems to be in chat rooms only as
for as i can tell.
