Summary: WinGaim Crash on IM

Initial Comment:
Running XP SP2. Gaim 1.4.0 (with bundled GTK) comes up
fine, then crashes when sending/receiving messages.
Changed resolution from 1400x1050 to 1280x1024, et
voila! Problem went away. Windows Update ran last
night, latest security patches installed (see below).
Now Gaim crashes on IM at any resolution. Tried
uninstalling/reinstalling; no joy. Installed debug
version of WinGaim 1.4.0, and was able to IM briefly,
then blew up again:

Error occured on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 11:55:14.

C:\Program Files\Gaim\gaim.exe caused a Float Divide By
Zero at location 01cb433c in module
C:\WINDOWS\system32\icm32.dll.

Details in attached gaim.RPT.

Many users with the crux gtk theme have reported crashes that go
away if the gtk theme is changed. see gtk bugs

Just an FYI: I run jspager at home on XP, and Gaim runs just
fine.

Additional bug info: I upgraded to 1.5 with new GTK at work.
Everything was beautiful until I powered down for the
weekend. Rebooted XP there and all of a sudden the problem
described below is back. Is there some portion of the
install that doesn't complete until after a restart?
Because, whatever it is may be the actual culprit.

Aha! That is the culprit (This became apparent after
dealing with another bug report). I think that GTK+ can
probably do a better job of dealing with it.

Are you using some sort of virtual desktop?

Thanks. I created the GTK+ bug and added it to our grouping
list.
