Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Tal Tamir (taltamir) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Incorrect Error Message. (gaim 1.0.0) Initial Comment: Whenever I start gaim up after installing it, it runs fine (on the first run). Every time I open the program afterwards I would get the following error: gaim.exe - No Disk There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR7. My options are cancel, try again, or continue. cancel or continue make it load as usual. try again just brings up the same message again and again until I clock one of the other two. This stayed after a reformat and reinstall of windows (which I performed when I got a new, third, HDD). I am using windows XP, SP2 (although I beleive I even had it with SP1). It has existed for the past 5 or so versions of giam, but I recall a time when it wasnt there. I have 3 harddrives, all formated as FAT32 partitions. Windows is installed on a 20 gig drive. C: D: is 160GB E: is 160GB I tried installing gaim on C or on D and it didnt matter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tal Tamir (taltamir) Date: 2004-09-18 21:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=898597 ps, while i can remove the drive for the camera data cards, the usb hub I am refering too is actually the one thats part of the motherboard. So opening the computer up isnt a solution (yea, i thought of it, what with me building it) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tal Tamir (taltamir) Date: 2004-09-18 21:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=898597 I don't have a removeable device. WinXP misrecognizes my built in USB as a removeable device. And I have an internal digital card reader (the type used in cameras), the bays of which are considered by windows as removeable HDDs. Those are all built in. So I cannot remove them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kevin Stange (kstange) Date: 2004-09-18 20:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=726342 This problem appears to be a GTK problem related to removable storage devices, such as a digital camera, memory stick, or similar device. Try removing and disabling any of those device before starting gaim, as a workaround. This bug has been previously reported, but I can't seem to find it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=680472&aid=1030481&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
