Summary: MX610-notification

Initial Comment:
Makes use of Logitech MX610's IM-led for informing
about new unread messages. I'm still working on the
IM-button as I have time, it seems to work differently
than the other buttons. You can download the plugin
from
http://koti.mbnet.fi/simom/gaim_en/mx610-notification.php

Marius, did I get you correctly that you're trying to get this work with
Gaim 1.5.0? This plugin is written for Gaim 2.0.0betas, I have tested it
with beta3-beta6. It doesn't work with 1.5.0 without modification as there
has been changes in API between 1.5.0 and 2.0.0.

Hi,
I had problems compiling the plugin.

mx610-notification.c:169: error: 'GAIM_CONV_TYPE_IM' undeclared

After changing that to GAIM_CONV_IM (the same for GAIM_CONV_TYPE_CHAT) I
got following error

mx610-notification.c:384: error: too many arguments to function
'gaim_prefs_connect_callback'

I just tried to delete the first argument to this function. Dont expected
it to work but it compiles.
Anyway, the plugin isn't working (as expected ;) I dont want to digg into
the API. Perhaps you have a quick solution.

Was there an API change from "whatever GAIM Version" to GAIM 1.5.0?? Would
love to test and enjoy this nice blue LED ;)

Hey,
I am using xfwm4 as window managar and switching off focus stealing
prevention helped. So Everything works fine now. Still I am wondering why
it works correctly for the conversation windows and why it does not for the
Buddy List.

Thanks!
cristsc, are you using Metacity (Gnome's default) as window manager? It
seems to have some kind of focus stealing prevention or something like
that, as windows raise correctly with Beryl, xfwm4 (XFCE4's wm) and
OpenBox. I don't know what I could do to fix that, or is it even possible,
if somebody has an idea, tell me too!
I haven't even found a way to disable this 'focus stealing'-feature in
Metacity (surprise).

cool plugin, but the buddy list and the windows are not raised to the
front. If I have another window focussed and hit the button, the buddy list
appears behind the current window.

Version 0.4

 * Not trying to turn IM-led off immediately after turn-on, no more stuck
on IM-led (hopefully)
 * Some smaller tweaking

New version 0.3:

* IM-button toggles buddy list when there are no unread messages
* Window-raising works a little bit better, now doing things
on button-release
* Added 'Reset IM-led'-command to menu, in case the IM-led
stucks on, haven't yet figured out what causes that

New version released, IM-button now works and raises the
conversation-window when it has unread messages.
