Hi Michael,
Yes, we are certain that Galaxy is processing jobs and is experiencing a
heavy user load. The variable job working time is due to the type of job
and which of our clusters it runs on.
We have substantial resources dedicated to the NGS mapping jobs, and job
quotas help to ensure that these are distributed fairly to all users on
the public instance, but there is still competition when we are busy.
These are the types of jobs that will generally take the longest to
queue and complete when we are busy.
When using the Cloudman service, getting started initially will take
some account set up, but the tutorial instructions on our wiki are very
detailed and once you get started this is designed to be as simple as
possible for scientific users to implement. If you do run into problems,
please let us know and we can help, using the galaxy-...@bx.psu.edu
mailing list.

Hi Jen,
I am experiencing the same issue (job pending since yesterday) as Ateequr, but
not with other tools such as pileup. Are you sure this is due to heavy load,
not because of problems with Bowtie tool? It might just take a while for me to
figure out how to use your cloud instance.
Thanks,
Michael
