I strongly suggest you to use a stable release (latest stable is Ubuntu 12.04.1) instead of use Ubuntu 12.10 quantal ( this release is in alpha stage ) since you are asking how to update a Ubuntu system... You can use gambas 3 trunk also in a stable release of Ubuntu...
