Thanks for looking at this. Regarding the 'Esc' colour characters, the code posted does remove them. I also discovered that when run as an executable there are lots of other characters that are not showing in the IDE like *chr(3)* but these can easily be removed. The main issue for me is why has the some of the data been replaced with *'filter'*. For those having difficulty accessing my code I have attached an uncompressed tar file.
