Hi, Use GRML. http://www.grml.org It has speakup as soon as you get it from the site. What you should do, is just make a boot CD of it, then install it to a hard drive (witch is easy.... or you can get help from your teacher, how ever, using speakup, it is possible to do it by your self). Then go to the accessible wiki page for GRML at http://wiki.grml.org/doku.php?id=accessibility and do what it says to get speakup running when it is on the hard drive (yes, it is not as easy to get speakup to run the first time when it is on a hard drive, and you will need sited assistance for it(at least I did).). And, what is great is you don't need a hardware sinth. It is completely compatible with Debian Linux, because it is based on it. I love GRML, and have it right beside my Windows machine. What I thought was funny, was when I even upgraded from GRML 6 to GRML 7, I still did not have to restart Linux. Hahaha, just try to think of not restarting windows after a major update like that. Lol HTH.

The game programming class is being taught in Linux, but I am the only Windows machine in there. People have told me about different screen readers for Linux, but I am not advanced enough to get it up and running and my teacher has been working on compiling it and trying to get it to work, but has been unsuccessful as of yet, so I will be stuck on Windows. But with the game library that I will be using, it is compatible to run on both Windows and Linux systems. BEAN _______________________________________________ Gamers mailing list ..
