Hi. I have played neopets and most of it is inaccessable. It seems there
isn't a ton of games on the net which are accessable to blind and sighted
players alike. I truly wish there were more. I wish there was a website where
one can raise play or battle with pets. When I was sighted I had a petz 3 game
which helped me take care of a cat or dog and I could breed them and play with
them. I am fairly sure that isn't adaptable but some of these online sites
surely could be. HAving an accessable site like neopets might get a large
following. Apparently it's popular with people of all ages from all over the
world. So why is there no room for the visually impaired in the community? If
I knew the coding I'd make a site to adress this gap in playability.
Seems a lot of websites are thusly. Myspace, an online community website, is
similarily inaccessible. Even agter e-mailing them with suggestions I never
heard anything back. We as a community should take action, like with the
monopoly.com site, and demand equal access. This affects all of us and we
should not stand by and take it.
Sorry, that's the advocate in me *grins* but I had to write about this for the
issue is important to me.
Thanks.
Chrissie
