Hello everyone. Here is the deal on adding other lists to the
audyssey.org domain.
The webhost provider we are using is specifically designed for
high-volume lists. Because of this we are not free to create lists at
will even though we use cpanel to manage the account. In order to add
more Mailman lists we need to pay for those. If it's a low-traffic list
the cost is $3 per month.
This however does not mean that all hope is lost. We do have access to
install and run other list software. This alternative will not yield any
charges, especially if the traffic is low but it would not be Mailman.
The other list software I saw available to me at no additional charges I
think were php based. Whether they are email based or web based I don't
know. I'll make this an item for me to look at.
In short, with something like this I'd like to create a gamers-dev list
and have it hosted on audyssey.org. I totally agree with Tom's comments
in that it's not totally on topic for this list yet it's on topic in the
sense of game development so we should if possible have another list
available on audyssey.org domain.
Hope this clears it up. I'll post my suggestions and findings later
today.
