Hi Richard! Man you are missing out on some good books. Do yourself a favor and read some of the Star Wars triligies. They have added allot of new main characters, and the movies only scratch the serface of what is there in book form. One thing you might want to catch on to early on is some of the Star Wars history is not just in books. They kind of have to create history for the games and comic books which adds to the Universe as well. For example, when Mara Jade was introduced in the Thrawn triligy she had been trained by Emperor Palpatine in the dark arts, and was sent on a mission to kill Luke Skywalker. However, she was turned, and her character fell in to a more generalised roll. Next thing I know Lucas Arts came out with the game Mysteries of the Sith where you get to play Mara Jade, in the game and suddenly she is now a full fledged Jedi Knight. Kind of came out of know where. The books and especially the Star Wars comics picked up her status as a Jedi and she makes it to Master in the books and comics, and winds up meried to Luke Skywalker after all. Grin.
