Hi, Shaun.
I am not an expert on the GMA Engine, but you don't need to know VB or 
DirectX to use it. What I do know it has some forms, and you do script 
the engine and levels for the games. Not sure on the specifics  beyond that.
As for the features people are proposing here, the GMA Engine would have 
to be massively upgraded if not rewritten to support the suggested 
features. Then, afterwards there is still a heavy price tag attached to 
it so it wouldn't be for leasure developers.
