Hi, Will. I can't answer your first two questions, but I can answer the last two. As for a mailing list there is a rail racer mailing list. Right now it is for private testers only, but I imagine once this thing goes public the list will be opened up to the public. As for a USB mouse most laptops have USB 2.0 ports. I suggest getting a optical USB Mouse. They have good responce times.
