I would also like to chime in here. If the heart of the game is the
flight/combat part of things, don't spend a lot of time with the
outfitting stuff. Make it an optional scene, like the intro in
Shades of Doom. I like the idea of choosing your load-out, but if I
want to fly/fight a plane, I don't want to have to fiddle around much
in the hangar.
