Hi Jen,
Sorry, don't know what it was called, but what I think you could do is ask
rowing coaches or try a gym. I'll ask my brother to ask his friend the name
of the model, but I know it is a very expensive machine, proper equipment.
Some more things about it: you plugged it in, sat in this chair far back
from this sort of bar you pulled, which was attached by a sort of
spring-wire to the front of the machine, so you would sit on this chair far
back from the main sort of console, if I can put it that way, and stretch
and pull this bar backwardsto you, let it go, and then pull it again. You
then chose options from a menu. You could choose the sort of race, or just
on your own. You then chose your distance, 5 KM, 11 KM, 22 KM etc. Then you
chose the level of resistance you wanted the imaginary water to offer. What
was interesting in the racing mode, was, like real rowing, you had to settle
into a rhythm and timing of pulling, if you speeded up you had to have a
faster rhythm, and if you slowed, you also had to slow the rhythm. Whenever
you pulled, you would hear sounds of water, and when their was a shark,
you'd hear this sort of scary noise. I can't remember properly, but I think
that if you hadn't chosen anything from the menues and pulled the bar, no
resistance was their and their was no sound of water.
Ari
