Hi, Miss Wings. When using a weapon you have to click on the link equip above the weapon of choice to be able to use a weapon in combat. Be sure to check the stats for the weapon you are carrying as every weapon has a quality as well as a Melee rating. For example, a well crafted sword, warhammer, ax, would be better than your magic dagger in a fight. Also if you have a speciality skill such as slashing, bashing, stabbing, etc helps decide what kinds of weapons you would be good at carrying and equipping. For example, I Have nearly 40 in general weapons skill, but my slashing skills, specialising in swords, in the 30's now. Which I am a fearsome sword fighter, and I choose to carry and equip swords in combats. If you were skilled in bashing you would be good at clubs, hammers, and other bashing type weapons. If you don't yet have a specialty you can get sword skills at the Moon Shore In, or bashing skills from the Munk in the Monastery in Northern Trithik. You can also get trained from the folks in Talonis, but they want to much for there services.
