Hi Dave,
I don't know if this will help or not, but my games with recorded speech such
as BopIt, Mach 1 and Golf version 5 use the MCI drivers and they all run on my
Windows XP machines. I don't know perhaps they install the MCI drivers. You
could try down loading and installing one of them to see. They are on my free
windows games page.
