Hi Nicol, While it is true you won't be buying things with the gold and gems and other treasures you find those are the very purpose of playing the game to hunt for treasure. Losing it you will have to collect as much gold/gems as you can find to help improve your score. If you loose your gems and gold your score will drop, and for those doing online competitions for first place it will hurt his or her chances of being a top person on the score boards.
