Hi Dark, No, the last two Harry Potter books are not for young children. They seam more aimed for teen agers and young adults, and any adults interested in reading them. The last three books and especially the final two that are out get in to more deeper aspects of the story and is more serious, and is moving away from the childrens books and in to more adult matter and content. Not to mention less light hearted and darker. Personally, felt the story got better as it progressed, but then again for children it is probably getting above their age and over their heads.
