Hi folks, some of you may have game clients as I do, particularly the RS
games client and the QuentinC playroom client. Well, the QuentinC
programmers have added another game to the mix, i.e., French tarot which
is a trick-taking game in the style of other such games. I assure you
I've read the rules for this game but they confuse the dickens out of
me. The French tarot deck is a lot larger than your regular 52 card
deck. Not only do you have ace to ten in the four suits of diamonds,
hearts, spades and clubs, and of course the jack, queen and king, but
you have four new court or face cards, i.e., the knight. After these,
you have the twenty-one trump cards which are numbered as 1 of trump, 2
of trump, etc. and a joker card known as the fool. Each card apparently
has a point value to it, king is 4.5 points, queen is 3.5, knight is 2.5
and jack is 1.5 points while number cards give you .5 points. The
scoring is particularly complicated based on the contract you take. I
played it just for grins and right now I can assure you I lost
resoundingly. So if any of you wish to go nuts, why not be frustrated
out of your gourd and try and understand this arcane game of French
tarot. (Give me spades any day.) Regards, Kim Friedman.
