Well sTeven I'm not sure about the hand holding thing, to me that is
waaaaaay too forward, though that's something for another topic.
But getting slapped by tegan is sort of amusing, indeed it's quite
interesting to know that her character was sort of based on her persona.
Actually I had a similar experience in 2006 with Colin baker. I'd traveled
literally five hours by train from the buxton gilbert and sullivan festival
to a Doctor who convention where I met him, Along with terry Malloy.
We of course got to talking about gilbert and sullivan since Colin is also
both a fan and a performer, (he's toured with the Carl rosa opera company
as well as playing Doctor who), and he mentioned the audio big finish story
Dr. who and the pirates, (he also treated me to a lovely rendition of the
song you may not point from Ruddigore, which he sang as a boy since he
apparently went to an all boys school and always got cast as the main
leading lady). Ironically, at the buxton G&S festival, a chap I'd met who
was, like myself a major fan of both light opera and doctor who provided
me with a burned cd of the story.
So, when Colin baker asked me if I had heard Doctor who and the
pirates, ---- I replied that I'd just heard a (and whispered), "copy!" where
upon Colin Baker laughed and told me he wouldn't tell the police :D.
Ah well, Colin has always been my favourite Doctor for a reason :D.
