Agreed here. Let us all please refrain from categorical statements
based on one's personal likes or dislikes. It is okay to make a
statement, but it is important to explain why a person feels that way
and to stress that is your own opinion and not necessarily holds true
for everyone else.

The problem with categorical statements is it assumes that everyone or
the majority of people agree with you on a specific subject, and that
frankly may not be the case. It also assumes that your opinion,
biases, whatever the case might be are absolutely right and everyone
else's opinions are of no value. On a mailing list such as this we can
not possibly get your tone, facial expression, and all we have to go
on is the written words and categorical statements sound especially
arrogant when not tied with someone's facial expressions and tone of
voice. So let us try and not make blanket categorical statements and
realize everyone has an opinion and that it is worth respecting even
if we disagree with it.
